So what does organizing have anything to do with owning your
life? Well it a great way to put what
really matters into focus so that I can actually change my life for the
better. Knowing what is expected of me,
requires me to be accountable for myself as well as being productive while making small and large accomplishments along the way!
My first step into owning and taking control of my life is
the daily use of a planner. It gives me
organization and is a constant reassurance that yes I am making accomplishments and
sticking to my schedule and accomplishing goals. I use my planner to stay organized and sane! I am a better person because of it! Trust me; ask my husband how my mood is when
I’m disorganized! Ha!
Anyway, there are many great ways to stay organized, but I
have found that using a planner helps me out the best. Organization Works! It Works for me! In order for me to
accomplish tasks, and know what I can and cannot put off for a later time, I
use my planner. Using my planner is my
life saver. It is like my Holy
Grail! Without my planner, I would be
completely lost, disorganized and a complete wreck! So yes, my planner and organization makes me
a better person.
How I made my planner and how I put it to use!
To begin, I gather all of my required materials I think I
would need to help me get and stay organized.
The best way for me to plan and stay organized is by making my materials
and products Work for Me! Making my planner mine, all pretty and cute
makes it that much more valuable to me.
The more I like something the more I will use it! So I Own
It and make it mine! Oh, the
finishing touches on Miss Momma G’s planner; like no other!
However, I always, always remember to keep a tentative schedule!
I keep a tentative schedule because LIFE HAPPENS! Things come up, things change; I spend more
time on a task than expected. So what do
I do? I take a deep breath and tell myself that it’s going to be okay. It’s okay because things happen, Life
Happens! If I don’t get in my
three chapters of the Bible for my daily task, I either double up the chapters
the next day or learn to let it go! Accept the loss and move on, MOVE
FORWARD!
Slowly but surely, I am learning to let things go and moving
on. Yes, my Bible study time is important to me but its okay if I “fall off the
wagon” every now and then. It makes me
human and it’s okay because I am Not
Perfect and God did not intend for me to be perfect all the time. God is not going to punish me for not reading
my chapters for the day. God is going to
be happy and love me regardless because I am his child.
Life will move on
with our without you, no matter what you do or do not do!
Having a tentative schedule also allows me to learn and
grow! I learn what it feels like if I do
not complete a certain task for the day.
I eventually conclude that the task is either important or less
important then change and adjust accordingly.
I also learn What Works and
what does not work and what I like and what I don’t like.
WHY, it’s the ultimate question! Why do I use a planner to stay organized? Well, for me, keeping a planner makes me
accountable for my time. It’s a great
time management tool but most importantly it’s a great way to look back at what
all I have accomplished. I can give
Praise to myself for keeping up with my commitments, being productive, taking
time for myself and completing tasks that are important and knowing the
difference between what matters and what does not have that much weight to
worry about to begin with!
Using a planner keeps me organized and most
importantly keeps me sane! Remembering
that LIFE
HAPPENS and keeping a tentative schedule will always help me keep
what’s important in my life stay important.
New ideas and experiences will follow!
