Recipe: Easy Short Bread Cookies with Icing

Easy Shortbread Cookies
with Momma G's Homemade Icing

I've had a sweet tooth here lately so I found myself searching online for different kinds of cookie recipes.  I found this great egg-less and easy Shortbread Cookie Recipe from All Recipes so I decided to give a whirl.  I was surprised that it only called for 4 ingredients, which I had on hand so I didn't have to go out and buy anything!  Any who, I loved the fact that it mixed up nicely but I felt like there was something missing.  Of course, icing!  So I made up a batch of my easy icing.  Then I got into decorating and had a great time.  I was quite happy with my results! :)

Recipe: Hot Dog and Potatoes with Mac N Cheese

Momma G's
Hot Dog & Potatoes
with Mac N Cheese

Looking for a recipe that's easy on the budget, kid approved and simple?  Do you need to use up some staple food items? Check out my new recipe Hot Dog and Potatoes with Mac N Cheese!  What kid doesn't like mac n cheese, or just plain cheese for that matter?  And what parent doesn't like budget friendly meals? Well, I think I found a simple and frugal solution to the problem, What's for Dinner?

Ingredients:
1 box of Velvetta Shells and cheese
4-8 hot dogs
3-4 potatoes
2-3 cups water

Directions:
Start off by washing and cutting up the potatoes and place them in a separate pan.
Add butter and water to the potato pan and cook until simmering then turn on low.
In a separate pan, prepare mac n cheese according to boxed directions, drain then add noodles to potato pan.  Let simmer for about 5-10 minutes.
Your mixture of potatoes and noodles should look soupy.
Cut the hot dogs into small portions then add to potato and noodles mixture.
Let that cook for about another 5-10 minutes then add your cheese  (the foil packet of cheese that comes with the velvetta shells and cheese works just great).

Other Tips:
You can even omit the mac n cheese and add veggies and cheese instead. The possibilities are endless!

Remember you can use plain noodles and cheese to make your own homemade mac n cheese instead of a "boxed version".
